Screamer - TCP RST

i was lucky enough say from 5pm yesterday till 11pm with no disconnects :)

It shouldnt be luck, it should be fixed. We are paying for this service.

Not sure what they did, but my disconnects are now completely gone :)

I got my Wifi installed yesterday and i'm getting disconnects no matter what I'm busy doing, the whole connections just stops working until I either do an ipconfig /renew or restart the POE

is this the same thing you guys are talking about in this thread or are you just getting it when connecting to WOW servers?

No this is a different type of problems which I am now having. The WoW disconnects have stopped, but my connection stops working at some point where I need to do same as you.

Well , i will be moving house shortly to a area where telkom refuses to fix the lines, they lie about the lines being stolen as i can see them broken on severel places, and i think the technicians are just to lazy to fix them so they report as "stolen"

Now i am considering other methods like screamer neotel ect, but as many of you guys i am a WoW gamer and in the top guild on our server that requires some hectic play going for realm first kills. if screamer cant offer a decent connection should i even try it? Is there anyone that can sugest to me that its worth getting their service, even if its the representitive himself?

I will be in midrand area glen austin ext1 currently on telkom/axxess adsl in roodepoort with 400 ms to wow servers.

Thanks

a little off topic but can you guys recommend a good lightning protector?

also when downloading at full tilt will it affect my phone calls over the screamer gateway?

Well, here's my theory on the CPE and lightning:

Since the CPE is encased in a weatherproof shell, and no metallic object is in contact with the internals (such as the pole) - it is unlikely that lightning will hit the CPE.

Up here on the highveld, where the lightning is ferocious, out CPE is never unplugged. We have not had a problem with lightning - in fact, we have more problem with service delivery than lightning.

To be on the safe side, though, just unplug it..

awesome, thanks for the good news :)

now back on topic, what the hell is going on today, it took me about 30 min's to just get onto this site.

HTTP downloads are down to 10Kb/s and I'm offline more than I'm online

this is just sad
