I got a screen protector with a silicone case I bought for my S2, put it on slightly squint, tried to correct it and yes, buggered it up and there's dust under it now.

Anyone got any tips for reapplying these things? There's some grains of dust I need to get off it. Or should I just chuck it. I can't live with bumps.

I've never been able to reapply them they come out worse.

haha same happened on my S2, they say that theres no way that you can put that screen protector on without any bumps or dust. i bought 2 and had to throw the first attempt one away because after i reapplied it it just looked terrible, best bet is buy another one

The annoying thing was it was smooth as anything but a bit squint. So the one corner was not stuck.

I'll see how long I can go without it bugging me too much :D

I took my screen protector off completely. its been 3months now without a single scratch. Maybe the gorilla glass is good enough I have Desire btw donno if the SGS has gorilla glass

ah i see what you mean, my edges were also quite off, really bugged me! then i bought a body glove cover and all worries disappeared :D

Why bother to be honest? The new phones screens are brilliant, I've got one scratch on my old SE X10 Mini pro which is almost two years old.

You're right. I've had it for 6 months without a problem and it is gorilla glass.

Naked it is. Still want to watch the video though cos now I'm interested to know.

I tried naked but I got a few hairline scratches on mine so I opted for a screen protector. Got mine on 1st time, not a single bubble haha!

I'm not having any trouble applying my screen protectors, doing it flawless every time. Just make sure you clean the screen thoroughly with a microfiber cloth or one of these cloths you get with spectacles and hold the screen protector by its sides when applying it.

Thanks for the run down. Believe it or not, after the mention of scotch tape earlier, I did it exactly like the example last night and managed to get it on properly :)

The problem was that the hole for the home button is a bit squint so I had to apply and reapply a few times to get it right.

Looking good now though. Thanks ;)

It's kinda tricky to explain, you really have to see it.

I'll try anyway.
  • Clean device
  • Apply screen protector (I usually align with the home button)
  • Before removing the top film of the screen protector, try and squeeze out any bubbles.
  • Any bubbles that remain usually have some dust trapped in them
  • Apply scotch tape to the corner of the device closest to the dust
  • Lift up the scotch tape, if you've done it right (and have sticky enough tape) the screen protector should lift off the device with the tape.
  • Use another piece of tape's sticky side to pick up the dust
  • Repeat for all dust particles
  • Remove top film of screen protector

My iPad has zero bubbles/dust using this method. It's also good to spray the surface/device with compressed air before beginning.

Yea thats how I do it, except that instead of usinf scotch tape I cut about 5mm off of the backing before I start.
