Hello,

I've had this problem before on another pc. The monitor used to lose red color resulting in everything becoming very dark, I used to only be able to play pc games when I put blankets over the windows so the monitor is the brightest thing in my room.

Luckily I am not currently facing the same problem. Now my pc CRT Monitor (LG Flatron) randomly loses hue or gamma or something, because I can't see for **** in my games. Sometimes it goes back to normal and everything is fine.

I seem to remeber fixing this back before I formatted my pc, but I can't remember how exactly. Might have been drivers but I have tried all that I can from Driverguide and nothing worked :<

Any advice from you guise?
Cheers

CRT? Yeugh... Get an LCD.

Beyond that, sorry, no idea what would be causing it. Sounds to me like the monitor is on its way out.

It could be dry joints on the PC board on the inside controlling hue and saturation and gamma / brightness pots. If you have someone electronically minded with a soldering iron and a bit of know-how then you might be able to spot them with a magnifying glass and correct them...

I supposed you're talking about the pc board inside my screen?

I heard that the Capacitors in CRT screens can hold enough charge (even after 6 months of being unplugged) to kill you.

Chances of you getting killed are slim but you can get a very nasty jolt if you don't discharge things properly. If you don't know what you are doing then stay away.
