Let us know how the front shield goes, I'm very interested to see what happens. Thanks in advance
I finally got around to installing the front shield on Monday.
I gotta say this was much harder work than the back.
It's quite quick to get the shield on and in place, but I have a Touch Pro 2 and there's a slight ridge where the screen meets the chrome case. I've seen numerous complaints about people having massive unsightly bubbles here so I was extra careful with mine.
What I discovered is that the end that you squeeze the most amount of the shield spray out of will be most effected by these bubbles. BUT what I also noticed is that spray gets trapped in the tiny ridge between the screen and chrome, which is what causes the bubbles - wherever the spray is, the shield won't stick very well.
So I pressed out as much of the spray as I could with the squeegee. I then let the shield sit for about 10 minutes and then started pressing those corners (where the screen and chrome meet) with a credit card.
This problem seems specific to my phone though, not all phones will have ridges etc.
It's been on for 5 days now and though I didn't have any bubbles on the screen, I had tons of tiny little on the bits of the shield that wrap around the ends of the phone. But these have been disappearing, slowly, but still going. I reckon given another week there'll be no bubbles at all.
I'm not sure if the material for the front shield is different to the back, but the front doesn't feel as rubbery.
Touchscreen sensitivity is great. Not as perfect as without a shield, but the disturbance is minimal. The stylus sticks a little more than your finger but if you don't press the stylus hard, it works fine.
All-in-all it took 5 minutes to get the shield on and in place but took about 2.5 hours to constantly work out the bubbles as the shield was curing. But again, this is just because of my specific phone
