Just a thread for discussion on the best screen protectors out there that are readily available in South Africa. Preferably for the s3 and names that are probably going to repeat actions and make one for the s4. main aim of this is to get insite on which screen protector to get. I;ve looked at 2 so far, the ishieldz screen cover and the iloome screen protector which is a beast but very expensive but protects like no other.

I've always been a fan of Steinheil films. They have a small range for the S3, like this one - http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/sa...creen-protector-steinheil-curved-crystal.html

I am actually looking at their GLASt range of real tempered glass screen protectors for the S4, hopefully they retain the feel of a phone's original screen. It's pricey at $35 without shipping though...

@CodeMaster
thank you checked it out and they make some solid products. One question though, do you know i there are any local sellers since shipping is gonna cost way to much for me, if i can get it at a local retailer i will definitely get one of the glast ranged products

I don't know of any local retailers, I normally order from eBay. There are a couple guys that sell the Steinheil stuff and offer free shipping, you just wait longer obviously. Most of the time they are cheaper as well.

The Moshi iVisor is the best screen protector I've used hands down. Bubble free, washable, and durable as anything. I got mine through Kalahari using ebucks.

Edit: I know there is an 'i' in the name but they make them for a number of different brands. http://www.moshimonde.com/product/film-protectors.aspx#list10

Are these screen protectors really needed? I watched a few scratch tests and it looks like these screens are almost unscratchable..

They are pretty good against steel, like knives, scissors, etc. The worst thing for the screen is dust and grit which is generally much harder than steel.

Heard the same thing, the sand and dust is what scratches your screen. Bought a screen protector for my s4 today. really nice and you literally cant notice it when applied. its dynaflo's liquid armor. used it on the s3 and its awesome. it claims to be dust an water repellent ontop of anti scratch, saw a friend take his key to his s3 and nothing which is what i's expect of the s3 screen alone but most protectors scratch when u use steel so this stuff seems pretty good. downside is it only lasts 6months but my friends says his screen protectors peel off after 3 anyway so hey this stuff sounds pretty awesome. decide for yourself, you can get it at a vodacom shop, donno if they all provide them though. http://www.dynaflousa.com/

I imported the liquid armour recently and coated my Oakleys, watch, camera lens and screen, both tablets and my phone (at the time HTC 8X) and while it does work well its not better than the glass screen protectors from spigen. I ended up dropping my oakleys off a game vehicle and completely scratched my lenses and had to replace them and sand from the beach managed to scratch my screen on my phone. I now have to S4 and a Spigen Glass.Tr screen protector and nothing compares. I hate having plastic on my screen, its scratches too easily and makes a phone feel cheap. The glass screen protectors feel like your phone does without a screen protector and they are just as hard to scratch as the phones screen itself. Definitely recommend.

Another bonus with the glass screen protectors is that if you drop your phone directly on your screen the glass screen protector will shatter and save your screen. Not always tho (found this out the hard way)

Scuse me for resurrecting this thread but I'm having a hard time finding a screen protector that fully covers my Galaxy S3. The Spigen Curved Crystal seems to be unavailable anywhere.
