This is just getting better and better.
Did they really think that we would not need to replace parts ?
Where's the spares for the other generator/reactor ?
WTF is going on here?

Mebbe they should do some pre-planning now hey ?

Media Sensationalization again

I hate it when the media picks up a story like the koeberg one and leaves small details out to make it more Sensational, there was never a problem with any of the nuclear reactors, if that was the case we would have had bigger problems than power shortages, the breakdown and problems have been with the generators, these are steam powered turbines.

But I guess the headline, “steam powered turbine damaged” does not carry the same selling power as “nuclear power generator damaged” now does it.
 
The two outages Koeberg went through in the past weeks have saved so much of the the power station's nuclear capacity that unit 2 will be able to generate more electricity in its outage stage that was forecast initially.

Agreed - the media in SA in generally irresponsible in their reporting. Not to mention that they chase the sensationalist headline to death.
Point in case "Petrol Price Shock!" - Oh my G0d - petrol is going up, what a surprise, who would have thunk it?

But, in fariness, it is not just SA journalists, but world wide.
