Script file to connect to PPTP VPN server automatically?

Hi all Linux geeks

Is there a way to get a PPTP VPN connection to be initiated from a script file (- and said script file is called from crontab)?

i would think so. There should be a way to start the vpn via the command line and then that can be used in script. Not familiar withg pptp vpns so can't say exactly which command
