Elloooo all,

Know its been discontinued...but luck have it I finally have the cash to get a SD PVR (dont want HD PVR), but no one has any. Anyone know of any stores in JHB area that still have some in stock? I know some peeps are selling...but rather wanna buy from a store at the moment. ;)

Ciao

u must just wait for the new HD PVR - the first one was a complete hash up!! I have good insider info on the new one and I have had a look at its specs, worth the wait. I am!

Isn't the wait a year though?

Thanks for the replies ;)

Thats the whole issue...read up on the current HD PVR and there is no way Im forking out that much for something that doesnt work properly. We have a Full HD TV...but for the hassle...not gonna be worth it at all.

But if this new one is coming April / May, and it has no problems then I will wait. Anyone know the date for release and if Multichoice will be releasing this one as the next model of HD PVR's?

For now gonna carry on phoning around for a SD PVR though...just in case

The Pace HDPVR problems are all due to the software, the UEC PVR will use exactly the same software so will have exactly the same problems...

The processer is slightly faster but the speed issues are all software related so expect no noticeable improvement

I dont have any interest in the company developing the product. And i'm not pushing it, I just believe they will get their hardware to work better. And I can't believe that the software is locked to the point that they wont be able to modify it or correct bugs. Seeing is believing, proof is in the pudding - will just have to see how it goes.

One thing is for sure, SD-PVR is finished, Pace HD-PVR sux, UEC HD-PVR is new and supports full HD and can use Mpeg4 not just Mpeg2. Plus there are still bugs with SD-PVR, multichoice never fixes everything 100%. But hey ... it's not bankrupt SABC!!!

So it is official, like I said, its just a matter of debugging the last few problems. There is no official release date, but my insider info reckons apr/may ...

Bonus with this model is it supports full 1080 and can take up to 500gig sata drive.

Thanks for the info! :D Full 1080...awesome!!!
