Hi there
Does anyone know whether the fixed, digital and variable audio outs are dependent on having a dual LNB? Or can you use a single LNB and still get audio out of all 3?
Thanks.

You should be able to get audio out of all 3 regardless if you use one or two LNB's, the issue with using one LNB is that either some channels won't tune, or PVR functionality won't work, but if you have picture, you should have sound

Ok great, thanks for that. I've heard there are problems, even using a splitter. But for now I'm just trying to get two audio outs (for wireless headphone/deaf grandpa to save sanity of hearing grandma), not possible on the old Single view decoder with one audio out. On the other hand, I might just split the audio signal on the old decoder, as DSTV want a change of ownership form to swap to the PVR decoder.

You have to have a minimum of two LNB's coming from the dish to use a PVR so I hope you're talking about splitting the audio and not the satellite signal :)

Yes, just the audio. The grandparents wouldn't know what to do with PVR if it bit them in the ass
