SD PVR Rebooting and Scanning

Hi all

Recently our SD PVR has started rebooting and scanning.
At random times it will flash 9001 on the front panel, with green, red and yellow lights on, then after a few seconds it will start scanning.
Once this has completed it will resume on the channel it was on before the problem occured.

This has only recently started happening a few times a day. For the past month or so it would occassionally do it, but for the past week or so it will happen 4-5 times a day.

Googling doesn't give any solutions, and the DSTV website forums also can't help.

best bet would probably be to take it in

or try reset

to reset your SD PVR go to the PVR front panel and press V+ and P- at the same time
then when you see DL on the front panel press the play/pause and V- buttons at the same time
the PVR will now reset the flash and reboot

my HD one has periods it goes through where it does the same
its probably caused by a faulty hard disk, maybe bad sectors?

Will take it in to the nearest Multichoice office - think it is across from Menlyn in Pretoria.
I just hope the R35-00 per month paid for a maintenance plan will be viable.
