Go grab CrystalDiskMark and run the tests, look at the sequential read/write.
Sata 3Gbps means it will run at about 300Mb/s instead of the usual 500Mb/s.

Then you're limited to SATA revision 2.0 (3 Gbit/s, 300 MB/s, Serial ATA-300)
Nothing you can do short of upgrading your PC or buy something similar to this
