SE P1i issues?

I just got my SE P1i a few days ago. I love the phone. Two issues I found thus far though...actually three.

1)When scanning for a WLAN, my phone reboots. Updated software, same thing. When I enter a specific SSID (for my ADSL WLAN at home),it finds it and I can connect. ??? Anyway, its fine for me if it works that way. Wonder why though?

2)Ok fair enough my phone is new and I've been playing around with it, but I expected a better battery performance still. Left it charging overnight(night of 26th)...only charged to a max of 98%. This morning its already on 54% and I didn't do anything special...just a two or three short calls in the course of yesterday. Should I be worried or does it generally perform better after the battery has been exercised a bit?

3)Ok the screen (I know its been discussed here before) gets really dirty so I had to get a screen protector for it.

Other than that, I think its an excellent phone. Any other SE P1i owners out there having similar issues...or even other issues that I should be aware of?

I had the same issues until I changed to World Generic 1 and loaded the latest firmware (R9K9....)
Solved most issues. Search for the solution here somewhere (XS+ if I remember correctly).

Thanks for the info. After reading up about it though, I could be messing up my warranty so I'm not sure if I want to go that route. Hopefully if I wait a little longer, the newer firmware will help me

And the new firmware is out for non-GW1 MTN phones
CDA 162024/92 R6A
Organiser CXC 162108 R6G04

Will have to give the new firmware a spin after I re-installed all my apps.

Always use the Organiser firmware, not the phone firmware, as the organiser is what you are interested in. The Phone firmware covers the phone hardware and may not change even with new firmware updates.

@JJRM

1) I didn't have this issue before. Could be something on your phone that's wrong.

2) I usually charge it only 2 or so hours at a time, enough for me to go from completely empty to full. Depending on use I get about 2 days of life from it. The single most power-intensive thing on the phone is the screen, so if you watch the screen a lot it will drain the battery FAST.

3) Yes, a good screen protector is essential.

Make sure that you are only using GSM and not GSM & 3g. Using 3g eats battery time.

Thanks. WIFI is disabled. GSM only selected. I think I should have waited a little before commenting on the battery life. Over this past weekend, it gave me a full three days with a further 18% life left, so thats excellent I'd say for a phone with these functions.

Managed to get those screen protectors from Incredible Corruption. Excellent. Can't figure how anyone could use this phone without one.

The touchscreen on my P1i is not responding very well, but I just can't seem to find an option to calibrate the screen. Anyone know where it is?

Just make sure your screen is clean because if its oily and dirty you aren't going to get a very good response from it. There could be a shorter way but you can go Main Menu>Control Panel>Other>Setup wizard and you can calibrate your touchscreen in one of the steps there. Don't know if thats what you're looking for
