SEACOM Failure
There has been a general failure on the SEACOM circuit. We have switch all international routing to our backup circuit and as a result there will be increased latency connecting to international sites.

Update: We have been advised by Tata that there seems to be a fibre cut between Marseille and London on initial investigations.
Update: We have been in contact with our Service Manager at Tata, We have been informed that this link should be restored within the next hour.
The link was broken due to a provider in France carrying out a cable upgrade without notifying any of their clients.

Seriously, how is that Seacoms fault? If your telephone line gets cut, will that be their fault too?

When you provide a service and don't have alternate routing available I say it's your fault, especially considering the size of the company.

If Neohell drops the connection for us, then they are at fault, as I see it. just as in this case with the French Comms company.... Our ISP's should be providing us with a solution via alternative routes.

It doesn't matter who is at fault, seacom is responsible for the service they provide to the ISPs and the ISPs are responsible for the service you receive.

Based on the amount of failures, they may want to look at some level of redundancy? My phone line? Tard.
