Seacom Connectivity

With mweb 4mb uncapped and when I left this morning was running at 390kb on torrents.

Likewise. I'm on MWEB 4mb uncapped and since about 01:00 this morning downloads haven't gone below 400kB/s.
 
Apparently it's up: Good news! Repairs to SEA-ME-WE 4 cable successfully completed – Final traffic restoration taking place this morning. We just received news that SEACOM customers are already restored & we expect traffic to be restored by mid-morning GMT
 
Youtube is finally accessible again. Can start downloading again - need to catchup a weeks loads of stuff in the next 2 days :)
 
Im on MWEB uncapped 4mb line, im only getting 70k sec off astraweb, anyone getting full speeds?
 
got an sms from VOX. Service has been restored but upstream providers now need to re-route their traffic again. Should take about a day to get it all right again. At least the link has been fixed! :)

International Consumer DSL, Clear-Channel & Velocity services restored and stable since 03h00.

IS engineers are closely monitoring the performance of services across the Seacom cable system.

IS is still awaiting official confirmation of the successful completion of the SMW4 cable repairs/maintenance from Seacom.
 
I'm on Axxess and my line is still completely unusable - any idea's ? 4MB uncapped. Not torrenting - even skype doesn't work.

There must be a problem.... Mine was working when I got back on line 18:45 last night. Full steam d/loading news from Astraweb...... Have you done the modem reset etc etc.?? I see Axxess were saying that if speeds are not back to normal, do the reset on the modem. I didn't have to do any of that though - strange... :wtf:

Give them a call and ask them to check out your line. I know they can see what speeds you are getting

Yeah, I did the modem reset thing. I can actually get skype to start, connect to a call, but I hear all the voices cut out and sound robotic. So strange. can't stream youtube clips either. Browsing works (but slow) and mail works fine.

There is no time. It could be Sunday morning at 3am when nobody needs it, it could be Wednesday at midnight. That's the problem I think.
