Hi all. They are currently laying the fibre cables in our area. A guy came promoting Seacom fibre. Quite an attractive package. R699 for 10mb line uncapped and unshaped, free installation etc. Its on the Vumatel network. However I can't find a website or reviews for the ISP. Does anyone have an account with them? Are they trustworthy and do they deliver a good service?

Seacom is sold by macrolan. Look for them in the ISP page

Only take the R699 package if you need the extra upload speed of a 10/10 line. Otherwise just go for the 10/2 line which is way cheaper at R559. I have the 10/2 package on Seacom (used to be Macrolan) with Vumatel and I have no complaints. Their sign-up process is just ridiculously out of date. They are a company in the IT space but can't even make a simple sign-up page on their website. Have to contact them and let them know you are interested. They will then email you the form which you need to complete, print out, sign, scan back in, and email back to them.

But honestly, other than that, no complaints. In the 6 months I have been with them, my internet was only down once. Not sure what time it went down as it happened while I was at work. Came back up about 30 minutes after I got home. Issue was with Vumatel, though, and not with Seacom.

Hi,
I was offered a very good deal with them, however I would like to ask you. How is their customer support?
Thanks!

Mostly good. Issue I had recently was not dealt with well initially but someone else took over the support ticket and redeemed themselves.

Why not just fax it back?
