Hello MyBroadband

i have a 1TB Seagate External Hard Drive, i turned my pc on its side twice, last night dropping my hard drive twice. Now its not Responding when i Right Click on it on Windows Ten. it was Bought from incredible connection.

What can i do to get it fixed i have over 300 GB of Steam Games on it and tons of other stuff it has over 600 GB Free space.

Thanks

Yip, just dont plug it in anymore.

ok i see they have a Guy who opens hard drives up :D but, how much do they charge to open the hard drive and fix it, my hard drive "external" is still spinning inside but it doesn't respong to the computer. i have taken it out now of the USB not plugging it in anymore.

I would remove it from the usb enclosure and connect it directly to the pc via sata to see if it's picked up in bios & windows for starters.

Next step would be to see if you can access the file system from a linux livecd/usb.

You either have corruption of the file system or physical damage, I'm assuming the drive was on and spinning when you dropped it, twice?

No it was disconnected from the USB when it hit the Floor.

So no power to the drive whatsoever? The 2.5" drives get their power via the usb port while the 3.5" get powered via a powerpack and cable.
