Wonder if anyone can help please.

A colleague at work gave me his external hard drive so I could copy some files onto it. Brought it home and copied the files from my home laptop. Now it won't read on his pc???

It doesn't open on any of the pc's at work either.

Tried it on a friend's laptop at home and it works! Seems the thing the two laptops have in common is that they both windows 7 64b.

What could have gone wrong and more importantly, how can I fix it?

Please help! Thanks!

Very strange, not sure what you can do to fix it, you can try to copy all the files off the hard drive and format it then put the files back on to see if that fixes it. Or run a scandisk on the hard drive.

Thanks will try this now.

I have formatted it over the weekend and moved everything back on ... still can't read on other PC's.

Format it NTFS or FAT32 from a linux livecd, reboot, copy data back and see if it works.

Any feedback bro? Did you get it sorted?
