Morning, Can anyone possibly assist with some help please.

I have bought a 3TB Seagate drive in order to connect to my Sansui TV, as per the Sansui manual it can support only 2TB. So I have partitioned the drive with 1.5T each ( so there's 2 of them) but still it does not wan to connect to the TV, any thing I'm doing wrong here? I'm going bonkers !!!

Thanks.

Have you tried plugging in something else like a normal flash drive to check if that is detected when formatted as either FAT32 or NTFS?

Another thought, is it an externally powered drive or USB powered drive? Might be that the USB port does not quite supply enough power?

check those as well as the defualt allocation set up,
Id suggest checking a flash drive first, see how its set up and match those on your new drive,

but could be anything at this stage...

The drive is probably set up with a GPT Partition. Your TV supports MBR Partition.

You would need to reset the drive to a MBR partition but you will be able to use 2Tb only.

MBR Partitions have a limit of 2Tb.

Response form Seagate..... Thanks everyone will try the MBR route and see with reduced capacity on the drive i.e 2Tb

Thank you for contacting Seagate Support.

I understand that you are having a problem with your external hard drive on a TV and I apologize for the problem.

Unfortunately, your external drive was designed to be used connected directly to a local computer via the USB cable only.

Additionally, the drive is only compatible with and supported on Windows 10, 8 and 7 and it is not tested on any TV systems. As a result, we do not have any information or ability to support the drive when used on a TV.

Here's the Data Sheet for your drive:

You may need to contact the manufacturer of your TV for further assistance.

Once again, I want to thank you for your business with Seagate and ?please reply to this email if you require further assistance.
