So I recently bought someone an external Seagate Freeagent 1.5TB hard drive. The weird thing is it only copies and writes at 1mb/sec on his laptop on a USB 2 port, but when I connect it to my pc it copies at 30mb/sec?
I can't seem to figure this one out..
His laptop is this one: https://www.nivo.co.za/#buy~asus.eee.pc.1201n.12.1.netbook.computer.1201n.black~p19270
and this is the hard drive: https://www.nivo.co.za/#buy~seagate.freeagent.desk.1.5tb.desktop.external.hard.drive~p13382
what seems to be the problem is that the laptop or the hard drive doesn't pick up that it's connected to a USB 2.0 port, seems like it thinks it's a 1.1 port.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
