Seagate hits 1TB per platter

Wow 5TB drive, just imagine ill never run out of sapce...but thats what i said when i got my 1TB drive and now i only got 600mb left

Its amazing how fast we run out of space now days

Not necessarily, and what happens if the room your RAID is in catches fire and burns down :) For the average Joe a backup image to another same-size disk kept offsite is perfect, using something like Ghost (or Acronis, nice incremental backup). I guess you could buy 4 or 5 of the same huge drives if you need RAID, but I would think it's overkill for a lot of people.

I quite like the idea of a 5TB drive for storage I must say.
 
tech moves so fast! intel is shifting gears, HDDs are too and SSD's keep dropping in price, never mind TVs!

People download terrabytes worth of film/movies/ebooks/tutorials from the net, but do they actually ever get to watching anything? lol

There must be a drive inside humans to become compulsive hoarders, many people I know does this thing, it irretates me because I know its so senseless :p

Rather take a day off go outside etc. etc. than sit in your pc downloading, organising stuff ur never going to appreciate fully xD
