Hi there,

I have a seagate blackarmour 2-bay nas. It comes with a powersuppy that has a two-point plug.

any idea what ups i can use on this?

update: if possible i would like to make use of power down features the nas has when connected to the ups.

a) cut the plug off a power strip and put a male "kettle" cord and plug into the ups
b) do this for the 2 pin plug
bob and all that

Is yours also so honey slow in the UI? I don't think they are great units. Try testing the drive in a pc if the NAS fails - I don't think the pc can see the drive due to the format. That is the last time I tried.

the NAS runs EXT4 file system...

I had a power outage the other day, during restart the nas started rebuilding the raid, then the power failed again. BAM, server was screwed. The drives where both recognised as "New" drives. Even though the data was still on them, the nas somehow forgot it's own settings.

The only way i could do a recovery, was to pop in a ubuntu live cd, mount the drive, and copy the files over.

It was not as simple as mounting though... it took some effort. but with a few good hours one can retrieve the data.

My setup was raid1 though.

I don't have issues with slow ui, or maybe i am just used to slow? :erm:
