Seagate partitioned drive issues

i have a 3tb partitioned external drive. worked great- would load and move stuff across with no issues. always ejected it safely. then a few weeks ago - one of the partitions would come up with file errors when new files were taken across. wanted to scan that drive and fix file errors- which essentially put them into the found.001 folder as a corrupted file- i.e. wasnt copied across properly. so i started transferring files one at a time.. worked all good. then it started again. i had moved files from 1 use to this partitioned drive but it isnt showing media files on my wd media player...
also other video files that were popped in- showed on my pc but not on my media player... so confused ... any help??

Guessing the media player doesn't like multiple partitions.

Nuke it and make one partition.

but it was working for so long... when i had it as one partitition it didnt read it- wd media player gen 1 i think- am running check disk on that partition now to see if it resolves the issue... haven't tried that before...
