You call it smart? Whenever I drive, I don't doubt my own abilities, but considering how many idiots are causing accidents and injuring and killing people in traffic, this statement is far away from being intelligent.

So you doubt your defensive driving abilities then...
Same thing:D

So you say that the 1000s of innocent people that are killed every day in traffic worldwide were offensive drivers and if they would have driven more defensive they wouldn't have been killed?

Its amazing how off topic people get. I started the thread just to find out at what speed their seat belt "alarm" beeped and everyone went off about safety. It was just a question not a philosophical debate

You said that defensive driving prevents accidents, didn't you?

No
I said YOU dont trust YOUR defensive driving...
Why are you so confident in your driving ability? Everyone on the road idiots except you?

You just come up with assumptions here.

I do trust my defensive driving, but a drunken driver crossing the red robot doesn't give a **** whether I was driving defensive or not. So your point has absolutely no value.

And yes, I assume that everybody but me is an idiot in traffic (even though I didn't say anything like that in my previous posts). This is my way of thinking ahead and to be alert. There is no principle of reliance on South African roads.

However, I hope you will never be involved in an accident and if you are, that you are wearing your seat belts. Good luck.

You know why? Because people shouldn't even know at what speed it goes off because they put the seat belt on the moment they drive off :D

To answer your question: There is no beep in mine :)

On my car (Toyota Corolla 1.8 Exclusive) the beeper starts to sound at aproximately 25km/h. Then after about one minute if you still have not put your seatbelt on, the warning tone increases in intensity and volume. The only way to silence it, is by putting on your safety belt.
