Honestly, put the money into savings and relook at your nice car when you are 25..

If you are not interested in that sage advice, take the 320D.. That is if you can find one not driven into the ground already for your budget..

Hey guys

I am looking at buying my second car would like to hear some suggestions on what to buy. I am mainly looking for reliability and power. I am only 18 but have a few online businesses so I bought a Getz last year that I could probably get R50k for. I want to spend about R90-100k but can afford more. These are some of the cars I had in mind:

* Audi A4
* Nissan 350Z (my dream car, a bit out of my budget though)
* Mazda RX8
* BMW 320D

Please let me know if you guys have any sound suggestions that have a similar vibe to these cars.
(Also, I know a Getz would be great for an 18 year old, but I'm a big guy & have an itch for a nice car)
Remove the 350Z and RX8.

I hate BMW but I have to admit the 320D is a great car (depending on year). It also depends on which model A4 you want to go for.

Won’t be looking at those cars if that was my budget - probably high mileage examples and not necessarily cheap to maintain. But to answer you, go for 320d. You’re looking at a pre-facelift non-Sport E90 model if you want something good for that money.

Invest in something that grows over time. Vehicle is a depreciating asset. Do you need or want that is another thing.

If any of those cars have a serious issue (and at that price it's likely) the fix will be more than the car's value. You are looking for reliability, but buying an old high mileage car. Does not compute. On the plus side, you should also be able to sell any of those for what you paid for it. (If it doesn't break first)

Edit. If you can find one, the 350z is probably the answer and a possible future classic if you can afford to keep it running.

Like an Alfa Romeo Brera? I bet that a cheapish second-hand model will appreciate in the next 20 years.

Off that list, definitely a E90 320d everyday.
Just check it out properly before you buy it and you will have peaceful motoring experience.
