Hey guys,

What are your thought on buying a second hand Volvo C30 (2007 model, <R120k, <80000km's)

Are the services expensive, maintenance, insurance? Anyone had any experience with Volvo's? What are the pro's and con's?

It'll be for my wife mainly.

The C30 is a real bang for your buck car and it looks nice too,but come service/repair time you going to cry.Reselling it at a decent price is going to be another headache, that is if you can find a buyer in the first place.

My parents love their old volvo. Its not a C30, in fact its an old one from 1985, but it still goes and looks fine. The really good thing about Volvo is their reliability and their safety features. If you are gonna keep the car for a number of years and not thinking about making a buck or two on the car then its a great family car. As stated in the previous message, the resale value in SA for volvo's is very low for some reason. I don't think the services are over the top, certainly not on a par with BMW etc. But I guess not as cheap as Mazda, but then you are buying a different type of car.
