Hey,

I have a bag full of PC goodies that I need to dump.

Here are my options:

I am looking for a computer place that buys or takes old computer components. There was one in Montague Gardens in Cape Town, but they vanished into thin air.

OR

If anybody wants to take this bag off my hands for free, PM me, I work in Century City and I have the stuff in my car.

2x PSUs (300w and 250w - I think)
Pentium 2 366 Mhz (I think - can't remember)
Motherboard for the processor
I think there is some memory on the board - 256mb sounds familier
ET6000 graphics card
Miro DC30 video capture card

And now the piesta resistance

A 486 DX4 100 laptop with 8mb RAM and a 900mb HD with an ethernet PCMCIA card. The laptop is in 100% working order and has Win95 on it.

This stuff is going to find my wheely bin by the end of the week if nobody takes this off my hands.

Dude donate it to an old age home or school or something .... even as old as they are, somebody somewhere can make use of them.

Where are you located? I'd be very interested in the lappy for retro gaming

I'm Assuming you're in cape town ... how heavy are the components if put in a box, cause I'm in Jhb and will need to pay for postage. I just need the Processor, Motherboard, Ram and Graphics Card cause one of the Domestics that works in my building asked me to find a full pc for her for R600 ... but if I can get one for her for free ... even better. Cause I've got a 10GB HDD and can organise her an old screen ... I'll just stick Win 98 and Office 97 on there for her as well. Does it all still work?

@juggy, I work in Century City in Cape Town, so if you want the lappy, let me know and we can meet. PM me.

@eitai2001, Yep in Cape Town. I am not sure how heavy they are and as for in working order, good question. The stuff should still work, but they haev been collecting dust for a good couple of years.

I would like to give it to somebody without having to go through too much effort and I'd hate to just throw it all away since I know that somebody can use the hardware.

Well if you can stick it all in a box and post it to me ... I will reimburse you the price of the postage. If you happy to do this, please PM me.

I just saw that you also wrote about a laptop ... that will be even easier cause then its ready built and I can just give it to her ... I'd really appreciate if you could post it ... And then just insure it for like R500. SAPO is pretty good these days ... please help me out so I can help this lady out ... she's very sweet and I really wanna help her. I personally don't need these items ... so its not for personal gain. Thanks, Itai
