Second Hand Laptop price?

Hi all,
A friend of mine has a laptop he wants to sell me. It is a Compaq Presario, unsure of model,
but it has a 2.0Ghz Pentium T3200, 1Gb Ram and a 280GB HDD. Also I think
it needs a new battery but it runs fine with the charger plugged in. How much should
I offer him for this? I don't know too much about laptop prices. Will I be able to
install Windows 7 on this with just 1Gb Ram?

Sounds really old..the T3200 came out around 2008 i think.. - maybe R1000 (since his your friend)

Yeah you should be able to upgrade the ram depending what type (i.e. DDR2 or DDR3 and the speeds of course). Best bet is to get the model number and do some research on what type of RAM it takes and whats the MAX it can handle.
