Second hand TV (old type)

good day peeps,

The SO's mom stays in an old age home (Huis Piek in PTA). There is an elderly gentleman that does not have a TV in his room, so he watches in the communal TV area, which is quite a distance from the rooms. Apparently he is getting so much flack from the bithcy click because he sometimes watches a bit too late. Also, the other night my MIL went to go and make tea (same communal area) and he was sitting with one of the couch cushions on his lap. It turns out he does not even have a blanket. His kids never comes visit etc, so the poor old man is all alone. It seems that whatever he gets ito pension etc goes to his accommodation.

SO and I are now going to buy him blankets etc etc. Where can i pick up a TV (old type) for around R500 or less, as we want to get him TV as well. Dont wanna do the Gumtree / B or B / OLX thing. Also wanna try and get it during this week, so that the people can get of his back. People should not grow old in such a fashion. :mad:

Just wanted to say that you have my utmost respect for doing this. Hats of to you. I'm sure you will get sorted with a TV. I am in CT otherwise would have tried to help.
 
Cant help i am in durbs , But well done just shows there are still some decent people in this world.
 
Trying to figure out where my old tv is, if it is available I'll give it to you.

he is in his late 70's, might as well try and make the last few years better :(

I've got an 54cm(I think) lying in a closet, will have to find the remote and test it since its been a while since its been on.

In Centurion and some days in PTA...

Found the remote and tested the TV.
