Competition is the only way to reduce prices.

I know that the 'SNO' licence has not been awarded yet, but I have heard that the 'SNO' is already laying fibre between the main cities.

Can anyone confirm this?

afaik has been doing so since 2001 and was already existing infrastructure through transtel/eskom before this

So it shouldn't take too long to roll out broad band to the public once their licence is finally awarded?

But, then they would still have to pay Telkom for the local loop.
