Hey guys, with lockdown etc I have been toying with solar esp with loadshedding likely to rear it's head again.

I came accross section 12B in the income tax side and see I can deduct solar in one shot.

So i was wondering if anyone has gone this route?

I do crypto trading sufficiently so that I'm a provisional taxpayer for it so I cover the trade aspect.

I am toying with the idea of setting up a full blown solar system claiming it under the trading side and selling off electricity to the home at discounted rate.

So i get my tax deduction and the house gets value from the solar.

Please note that when the house is sold I would recoup the expense for tax purposes.

Anyone did something similar?

You can't sell electricity in SA.

I would still go full off-grid solar anyway though...
OH ja forgot about all that. I guess would section 12b still be an option in my example take the sell electricity out of the picture. I would still use it for trade but the home would benefit too.
