Guys (and girls) this is something that simply escaped my memory.

I know it exists as I have found it before, but for the life of me I cannot find anything in Google and cannot remember the name of it.

This is an OS that you would run in a Virtual Machine that is encrypted locally and all traffic is also tunneled automatically so that you basically can't see what the VM/OS is doing.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Qubes? But keep in mind that if you want to encrypt *all* traffic from the VM, you have to have an endpoint (VPN server) that will decrypt that traffic. You may be thinking of Tor, but the traffic comes out the other side unencrypted anyway, so it can be observed there.

So it is not as straightforward as you describe.

Qubes is not the same one judging by the website, but it looks to be similar.

This was either an OS or a Virtualbox image that you simply booted up and it would basically open the VPN "outside" the OS so that everything is secure.

I know what Tor is and it's not that, but I guess it could have made use of Tor. I recall it supporting various options like OpenVPN etc.
