Secure Message scam

Seems like there is a "secure message" scam on the net with password protected zip files being sent to email. The "secure" email happens to contain the password info required to view the contents... The contents of the zip file is probably of a viral nature.

Very weak scam IMO. :)
 
Yeah, it is weak, but I can bet you a million and one people have fallen for it
 
I've extracted and opened one of these buggers on a sacrifical workstation, then checked the logs on my Smoothwall...

Seems this bugger connects to several sites in Russia, purporting in the meantime to connect to Yahoo (or whichever) secure mail server...

Blocked said sites with my Smoothie, and warned my users. Luckily no further scam emails was forthcoming.
 
A company with 50 or so users using GMail on a 3Gb ADSL line... *snigger* they'll be capped quick enough...

This will be the way to go as soon as that pesky 3Gb cap limit is lifted and we have cheaper, faster Internet access...
