hi all,
question from a non tech. i have a few wifi cameras.. xiaomi, wyze, tapo.. etc..
presently, i view the feed through the native software. i.e either the wyze app, or tapo appp.. etc.

i suspect that somebody is monitoring the cameras.. not sure, but the cameras randomly make some sounds, and move around without my input.

i want to break the connection from the native apps, and use rtsp protocol, to stream to a more secure app, that i can then access from my local network, or off.
said application is more for privacy, and security..

i hope i am making sense?

pls advice if anybody has any brilliant ideas.

The odds of someone having the password to every different service is very low unless your other security sucks so badly that your passwords are freely available.

First step would be simply changing them.

Cameras more than likely are losing power and resetting position. Or you have that configured right in without realising.

RTSP isn’t as simple and likely not supported.

Scrypted is an option.

Wyze, last time I checked, still hasn't added support for RTSP and has been asked for a long time..

Have a look at frigate. I'm using frigate with home assistant and for accessing externally I'm using the "Cloudflared" add on.

I've got 4 rtsp feeds coming from an analogue dvr.

I was going to say have a look at ZoneMinder. Been using it for 10+ years but now that someone has mentioned Frigate which I've read up on I might have to convert.
