Securing Proxim Wireless Access Point

I have a Proxim Orinoco AP-700 on loan for a while. Last weekend I connected it up to my ADSL modem, and voila, my laptop was instantly, wirelessly, connected to the net. However, I quickly went back to wired access, because my new little wireless lan was unsecured.

Where do I start looking to configure this access point to be secure? I have the manuals, but they are 200+ pages, and I really don't know where to start looking.

Most Wireless routers have the firewall turned on by default.

Visit http://www.grc.com and clicks on the Shields Up! links to do a router test. It will let you know if the firewall is on or not.

I'm not concerned with the internet side of security here, I want to secure the local wireless network.
