Security firm Kaspersky hacked

The CEO of Kaspersky(Eugene Kaspersky) wrote in his blog on Wednesday that he has some good and bad news for Kaspersrsky customers.
The bad news is they have been hacked!:wtf:
The good news is, thanks to their new age Columbo Specialists now products or services were compromised.
The bad news is they forgot to save the hackers' personal information before they chased them away.

Is it not possible to protect sensitive internal sites by way of using a protocol change dmz between them? e.g. having both ethernet and (say) arcnet cards in the routers? Just a thought.
 
In the old days a soldier was given a rifle to go to war.
These days all you need is a computer.
I am definitely not an expert hacker but if anybody thinks that all they need is an antivirus program and they are safe, they are making a big mistake.
I am not worried about the trojans and worms that are easy to detect.
I personally feel the listening devices or tools that the hackers create are a lot more dangerous
 
Good thing I use ESET Smart Security then.

Yes, I realise no products or services were compromised, but I don't want my antivirus provider getting hacked.

+1 also Eset is the lightest on system resources I've seen so far
 
What is the approximate percentage of South Africans whose personal devices have been hacked resulting in catastrophic financial failure? Or even SA corporates for that matter?

Interesting. Probably few as most losses probably happen as a result of phishing methods.
 
Many top providers had been hacked, including ESET, similar hack as to Kaspersky. In ESET's case they had compromised user accounts on their Forum, and indicated attacks on their system without any success. In Kaspersky's blog, there is no clear indication that they were indeed hacked, rather attacked without being able to exploit the system. At least the cybersecurity companies are transparent.

Yah well, brand loyalty is big on MyB.

However to quote the article, the bad news,

That is the good in the bad, thanks to attacks like those the system is only improved.

Go back and read his posts. He said that if it is hacked he would keep that in mind and I just pointed out that they all probably been hacked and then I was told to write my own. Is this not a forum of open communication?
