Sitting at the office or anywhere else in the world, you can now see who's at your front door by simply looking at your cellphone.

And it's not science fiction, it's been happening in a Cape Town suburb for the past two months.

In a technological breakthrough, South Africans and neighbourhood watches across the country can monitor their belongings via their cellphones, laptops or PCs from anywhere.

This comes with the launch of South Africa's first wireless mesh network and integrated video surveillance system.

Described as "a total turn-key solution" by IT specialists, it gives individuals and organisations the mobility to monitor their property via their cellphones or laptops from anywhere in the world.

Its really sad to see and idea of yours being started by someone else. Guess thats what happens when you have the ideas but no experience to implement it. Anyways good on them, nice to see some people taking safety seriously. Just hope they dont flood the spectrum with too much noise.
