Security on job sites

Not sure if this is the right place but here goes. I am in the market for a new job and noticed that not one of the bigger job sites, Pnet, Careerweb and Careerjunction have a secure connection. When you register on any of these sites you have to give a lot of personal information, including id number, salary band, etc. Yet they expect you to provide this information over a normal http connection. Any thoughts on this?
 
Its insecure yes. Doesn't really matter though. Crooks are lazy bastards. If they wanted that info then they'd just create a listing & wait for people to mail them the info. Much easier than intercepting internet traffic.
