Hi, my parents will be visiting me soon and will be using timeshare.

I am kinda new to Cape Town.

Can you please point me in the right direction.

They have 3 options:

Royal Atlantic, Sea Point

17 Marais Rd, Sea Point, Cape Town, 8005

Inverness, Sea Point
Cnr Camberwell & Grimsby Rd, Sea Point, Cape Town, 8005

Table View Cabanas

9 Athens Rd, Table View, Cape Town, 7441

They aren't spoilt for choice.

Which area would you regard to be the safest?

The "Table View" address is Blouberg. :p
Have some friends living quite close to that address, the one guy says it's safe enough, the other says careful quite late at night when people start returning from the pubs at marine circle.

I don't really know what to do.

Inverness, Sea Point has on street parking and nothing securing the parking area. They will be using a hired car.

I have read a few reviews on TripAdvisor & bookings.com.

I haven't spent much time in sea point but somebody commented that there are people who sleep on the road and prostitutes in Sea Point.

Sea Point is central to activities but not sure about safety.

Blouberg is kinda far away and not sure about safety either.

Well if they're traveling off-peak and are just going around northern suburbs/city center etc. you can try out the MyCiti instead of using a car. Currently using it to uni as it's a fair bit cheaper and don't have to worry about parking in CBD. Can also be done for Sea point.

Unfortunately this is the norm for lots of areas (except maybe the prostitute part). Even close to our house there are people that sleep on the streets (on the pavement of some shops). For the most part they seem pretty harmless - It's a sad situation but in my opinion the homeless should not be your #1 concern w.r.t. safety...

Where are you though ?

I assume Seapoint is closest. All those places are OK crime wise, I'd personally take the Table View option because its out of CT and more chilled.
Nothing wrong with Seapoint though.

there is no safe area

I personally would go for Sea Point, but maybe your parents would enjoy Blouberg more

Oh, if they want to go to the beach a lot, I'd also pick Blouberg > Seapoint.

Ye, I'd have a hard time saying one area is particularly more "unsafe" than the other. I guess you could check the crime stats in the areas if you want to go that far :)

I would suggest - Royal Atlantic, Sea Point

the marais rd schul is across the road - synagogues are known to have high security around them.
the beach rd area is patrolled 24hrs by guards on segways by a security company contracted to the sea point & bantry bay ratepayers.
association.
being a high value area, the area is swamped by private security companies.
local saps are pretty vigilant
