Over the past week in appears that our local Telkom mobile tower has some power intruptions, but the Telkom mobile callcentre gives me the runaround. We have a Telkom uncapped package and 2 separate LTE capped packages (in our phones). Without understanding the “insides” of a tower, my best guess is there is some power interruption that occurs constantly.

We have full 4G for 2-3 minutes, then you see it go to 2 bars, then nothing (the connection goes to red or “x” on the phone, indicating no signal), 3 minutes later the power seems to “reboot” and then the signal goes back up to 4G. Same on all devices and in our local community whatsapp group everyone Telkom is experiencing the same thing but most believe this is related to the cable issue. Our offices are about 5km from my house and there we have full signal (the whole day) so I am lost with this being a local Telkom tower issue, but having it down for 5 days straight makes me believe that they (Telkom) isn’t aware of the issue, likely because the tower “works”.

I have called 180 to report but have little hopes that they will actually resolve this. Anyone have an idea as to best report this and anyone here with more knowledge than me able to confirm if this is likely a tower issue or not?
