From what I understand if you set up a VPN and connect to it ALL your traffic will go through it.

Is there any way to have ONLY specific apps go through it like Skype, and everything else over the normal network ?

yes, but you need some advanced know how or equipment and if you're using windows I dont think so

can you get to a command prompt under ipcop or do you have to use the ipcop interface?

okay...what you need to do is...

1.setup a second routing table with the default through the vpn (once the vpn is working that is)
2.mark packets that you want to go through the vpn using iptables...either based on port, type destination etc
3.make those marked packets route using the new routing table

I think most people will find this pretty complicated thou ( I dont know if youre a linux god or not)...the howto on adanced routing will help alot if you're stuck or pm me

sorry if this is a liitle vague...

Very easy, msg or mail me and ill put together a custom route for you, for specific traffic only.
