Hey guys,

Recently moved premises, applied for a move. Phone line was installed on Wednesday this week, and this morning my self install for the DSL was finished.

Spent about 45 minutes from 9 AM this morning, trying to get the line verified (www.telkom.co.za/verifydsl) to no avail.

Page loads, then times out. I managed to eventually get it verified around 12 today, after which it told me in 30 minutes my service should be available.

I have checked around 2:30 today again, and I'm getting timeouts to all pages, including telkom.

I'm assuming there is a problem on my line, as I can hear a tick tick tick noise when using my analogue phone. This apparently is a electric fence interfering with my line and causing the below stats (I mean WTF? look at that SNR!)

I managed to get my complex to turn off the electric fence for a few minutes to test if it made any change to my line, and nada, nothing.

I'm assuming the interference is from the other complexes down the road with electric fencing.

Could somebody please help?

I'm trying to report my line to 0800 375 375, and have just passed the 40 minute mark holding on.

Sigh :(

Stats :

D-Link 2500U Modem (Bridged)
D-Link DGL 4300 Router
VP settings checked and okay
4096Kb profile loaded, but syncing at around 2400Kb.

The verification server has gone tits up.

I've been waiting since 11:45 yesterday for my bosses ADSL line to verify and have been told by Telkom that the verification server is ****ed.

They can't do it manually either so you're pretty much buggered until they get their **** together.

Just one more thing.

It's http://www.telkom.co.za/verifyadsl not http://www.telkom.co.za/verifydsl

so it's not really a case of self install gone wrong?

Not at all, I also have an issue on the same line, there is a loud buzzing noise even once the filter is in place. So much so that a call can't be made. Tried 3 or 4 different filters just in case it was buggered.
