Self install TopTv to DSTV HD PVR

Hey guys im needing some advice.
Totally over TopTV and their lack of sport etc.

Im wondering how much of a mission it is to change to HD PVR. I have the dish installed and Cabled but that is single LNB.
Would it be a case of getting a dual LNB then running a second cable and doing the dish alignment for DSTV?
I only have one TV that I use so I dont need extraview or any of those things. Any advice would be great.

I am no expert but does the top tv dish even face the same way as a dstv dish? I have heard not.

But assuming you can just move the dish, then you would need dual lnb, cable and hd pvr and some connectors

Big question is if the dishes are compatible? I would hope so as what would the point be in reinventing the wheel

You can stick with a single cable if you get a SatCR LNB (to DSTV HDPVR2P).

The dish itself will work, it will need to be moved though, and as mentioned you'll either need a twin LNB or SatCR

yes the Dish will definitely work you just need realign it and install a dual LNB.
unfortunately you only have the HD PVR so you can't realign the dish with the decoder signal info(signal strength on HD is not accurate) but you can try and borrow someone's SD PVR or normal decoder and attempt to realign the Dish simply by taking the decoder on the roof with a small tv or if you have two computers and one is a laptop you can use skype video calling, just put one computer in front of the the TV and use the laptop on the roof with Wi-fi or 3G to view the signal info on the TV in the lounge.

Thanks for the advice guys. I know the dish needs to move, Toptv is just off north and DSTV is just off east. The SatCR interests me because I dont really want to have to drill the new hole and then pull the cable through the roof. Im going to borrow my inlaws spare 1131 though for the signal when it comes to aligning the dish. Louis I like the skype video calling idea, its quite a clever work around.

Just checked out the SatCR LNB, seems they pretty pricey at R700-800. I might just have to get over myself and run some cables in the end.

The only hassle with that is I would still have a single cable leading from the dish(which I have already) and would then have another dish, LNB and decoder that I dont need. The plus would be that the dish is aligned to the correct direction though.
Im going to look around locally to see what LNB's I can get here and then decide from there if I need to go dual cable+painful install or single cable+SatCR.

no you tell them to put the dish in the old ones place but in the right direction and run the new cable.

Then you change the LNB
