Selling a car

It's not a scratch and a dent - it's a dent with a long penetration of the metalwork? Likely R15k at a panelbeater as they will replace the door - plus a bit of work on left passenger door as well?

It was not trolling. And, again, that is not a "scratch". I think there is already rust from the sheet metal having been penetrated?

Only if you're trying to get it to look more like "new" IMO so not worth it if you're selling.

It's a mindset thing for me. If I see a car for sale with some damage, it makes me wonder what else is wrong that I don't know about. Or how the owner looks after his car. A rusty old dent? Owner not to phased about looking after things.
Just how I see it. Well worth fixing it first.

Completely agree. A quick glance at the exterior tells you how the interior was looked after.

I can't agree. Try selling a car with that rusty gouge in it, and and any intelligent buyer will chop you down hugely on the selling price.

Agreed with both above. If a seller is so blase about the exterior; I wouldn't want to get close to the motor...

Who says we disagree? Read pg 1. My point is paying to have the the whole job done by an expensive body shop isn't the best idea given youre going to sell. I'm all for having it repaired and resprayed...
