Would any members on perhaps have an idea on book values for used cars? I want to sell one of my cars, 2015 VW Move Up, 78 000 km, 23 months unlimited kilometer dealer warranty left, service plan until 120k km. Has factory panoramic sunroof and mag wheels.

What would be a realistic price to sell this for?

2015 I saw on autotrader starts at R139k but that sounds a bit high for me. I'll see if I can use Sumen's sight.

Now to decide on a fair selling price, seems like it will probably be R120k.

I can give you the listed Retail price as of today - R 122 200 excluding extras.

Thanks Pitbull. What would you say would be a fair selling price considering extras and warranty+service plan? I've always just traded in, this time I don't want to replace the car, just sell.

In my honest opinion, seeing that it has a service plan (worth probably about R 10k as it will included the major 100k service), factory warrantee still for just shy of 2 years (piece of mind) and the Sunroof (another R 12k) mags - R 5k.

I would start at R 140 - 150k

You might have to wait a bit longer for the right buyer, but it should sell. Perfect student car for the R 150k bracket.

Edit: Classifieds. Add picture too if you can, it helps.

I'm not in the Motor trade so take my advice with a pinch of salt. But definitely worth R 150k easy. You should have no problem selling it for a good price.

I hope so. I might go through the same exercise for the passat late in the year but I must first save up as big cars tend to lose a lot of money, will probably need vaseline for that sale.
