How much income did it generate in it's lifetime? How many years was it depreciated over?

My nephew - he 'inherited' his Dad's iMac when his Dad upgraded and thought he could make some quick cash by selling it.

Sadly, that was not to be.

Edit: that machine still has plenty of life left in it but I doubt you'll get anywhere near the price of a new M1 based iMac which runs rings around it.

This is so true.

If I remember correctly there was even an odd benchmark test here and there where the M1 (basic, as in the MBA) matched or exceeded the iMac Pro. But with the M1 Max & Ultra around, as in the new Mac Studio, there is little appeal for an iMac Pro, except maybe if you prefer the all-in-one setup (as opposed to say, a Mac Studio which is a separate device next to a monitor on your table), but even then you would be nitpicking as a Mac Studio is not exactly that big anyway, and it's not like you move a setup like that often or take it with you like a laptop when you go out.

Are there still any major programs out there which developers or creative artists use, that require a lot of juice, that is not M1 compatible yet? That would count in favour for the iMac Pro...but I would guess that M1 compatibility for programs/apps looks much better than it was a year ago?

Tried trading in a oldish 11” MacBook a couple months back.

One iStore offered us R500 for it and the second one offered us around 3k for it on trade in.

Decided to trade it in instead of dealing with marketplace.

Was amazed to get two completely different offers from same chain of store in same city.

The problem is that today you can build a significantly faster PC for a similar price. Apple loved to keep selling outdated Intel CPUs in its products

Tbh, I would rather just keep it.

Of course you sacrifice screen size but for the money difference you could literally buy a MacBook Pro and a monster screen and still have loads of cash in your pocket with more performance.

You speak about Custom Spec. Core is not doing custom spec at present. Core is nt helpful. Only doing entry level spec.

Order custom spec all the time.

There’s just a waiting period.

That being said we use Digicape exclusively, but ultimately it’s still Core.
