Selling Old PCs

I've got a few old PCs I want to sell.
They're perfect for students/office work. Even light gaming with older games.

They've been tested extensively for stability and reliability. Now they need homes.
I don't have windows OS's for them.

In the past when I loaded Ubuntu on PCs and put them on gumtree/bidorbuy no one wanted them.

XP is not available anymore.

I could load Windows 7 Starter on them. Do you think they'll go?
I probably completely recover the money spent, but at least they'll go.
 
Donate them to a disadvantaged school. It will you feel better.
 
whats the pc stats ? im looking for a pc for my fiance . I want her to learn how to game :P she does play nfs shift now and then on my pc.
 
Rather sell as bare bones but sometimes donating give more gratification. Just gave a 1Ghz PIII to the maids son with a 128MB 6200 on it. Awesome gaming PC for him as he has never played Warcraft-III or the likes.
 
If you don't find any buyers, I'm sure schools and libraries would welcome any PC's donated to them.

I've got packaging (cardboard/polystyrene) for PC cases. One of them is in a brand new case.
I normally ship stuff via SpeedServices. I'll make all prices include shipping to keep it simple.

When I say the PCs have been extensively I mean they have gone through at least 70 reboots, Stress tested running benchmarks for 48 hours, and one has been borrowed and used for office stuff for about 2 months.

(I've got some more DDR and DDR2 RAM I can add to the PCs if necessary)

The PCs are worth nearly 5k I can't afford to give them away.
What do u guys think about putting on W7 Starter in order to sell them thru classifieds?
 
I honestly think the prices are high. I can buy a brand new E5300, 1GB Ram, 500GB HD, DL DVD writer system for R1999.
