Semigration, which town?

Is it possible to add a language option for the schools?
Good news, this is now live. I've added an Afrikaans-medium schools line to the town finder and to each town's profile page. It shows how far the nearest Afrikaans primary and high school are, worked out from the official school list.

A quick word on why it's Afrikaans only. English-medium schooling is available pretty much everywhere in the country, so there's nothing useful to flag there, every town has it. Most other home languages are taught in the early grades but switch to English by about Grade 4, so there aren't really separate high schools to point you to. Afrikaans is the one case where a family genuinely needs to know whether they can school their kids in that language all the way through, so that's the gap the tool fills.

One honest heads-up on how to read it. It's very reliable when it says Afrikaans schooling is nearby, but it mainly picks up the traditional Laerskool and Hoërskool type schools. Some schools teach in both Afrikaans and English under an English name, and those won't always show up, so if a town stays blank it doesn't mean there's no Afrikaans option, just that it's worth checking directly. There's a link on each one to confirm.

Thanks for the suggestion, it was a good one. Give it a try and let me know if it's useful.

Most place are now spolit by nearby informal settlements and townships. An eyesore. It also means the idyllic towns may not be as safe as one would like, e.g strolling and driving around and casually visiting places without constantly having to look over your shoulder. The crime figures can also not be relied upon - many not reported, many recorded/classified inaccurately, many not investigated so no one is any the wiser and may in any case be just creative accounting. Then crucially what is their success rate (definition?) and would they even dare to make this public.
