Senator sues God

may be he watched "MAN WHO SUED GOD", btw not a bad movie.

This is ridicuous, was a pretty good script for a movie but I can't believe this hasn't been thrown out yet.

The senator says in his lawsuit that God has made terroristic threats against him and his constituents

Chambers said he was seeking a permanent injunction against God

I'm not especially religious but this has to be an insult to christians.

The only plausible reason for this can be free publicity, needless to say I wouldn't vote for him.

I can just imagine someone trying a stunt like this a hundred years ago when an individuals right to this, that and the other wasn't available to allow crap like this to happen.

Wouldn't endear him to the average American voter either.

Fed up with the threats and tired of natural disasters, the state of Nebraska's longest-serving senator is using his legal muscle against who he says is the culprit: God.

Maybe he should concentrate his efforts on fixing the laws that allow insurance companies to use every possible excuse to not pay out.

I want an insurance company that pays out regardless. If I take out insurance on my car because I know I'm a useless driver, I want them to pay out when I mess up. That's what insurance is for.

Pitty the fool if God decided to honor the injunction say out of his constituentency.

Reminds me of that idiot mayor of New Orleans saying Katrina was punishment for America and particularly black Americans :o

Why?

I can just imagine someone trying a stunt like this a hundred years ago when an individuals right to this, that and the other wasn't available to allow crap like this to happen.

Is this nostalgia? How... enlightened.

You do realise that not everyone who believes in a god is christian don't you?

Anyway his point is that he is fed up with idiotic lawsuits and he has now started the stupidest one he could to prove it...

I think it's a good publicity stunt and hopefully it will bring some logic into the courts...

You all understand that this is a dig at the courts for allowing so many frivolous lawsuits, right?

EDIT - what GM said.

I like his style. They seriously need a wake up call and stop the amount of 'get rich quick' lawsuits.
