Hi
I hope I can ask this question in this forum

I need to send a large file about 280 Megs in size to some one in the USA. What is the best possible way can I send it ?
I have a 4meg ADSL line.

Thanks
Vaughan

Setup an FTP server with DynDNS, use Winrar to split the file into manageable chunks and let them grab it from you with their download manager.
OR
burn CD and mail it to them
OR
email the chunks to them

You can easily share entire folders or photo albums with Dropbox. Simply put the folders you want to share in your Dropbox, and invite people to them. You can also send people links to specific files within your Dropbox. This makes Dropbox perfect for team projects.

Hi
Thanks guys, I look at dropbox and dropsend. The guy on the other side does not know much about Pc's & internet etc. Basically he sends mails etc.
Thanks once again for the advice

I am a big fan of Pando. They can start downloading as soon as you start uploading so it saves time. Plus you can share the file with others. It is a bit like a private bittorrent thing. I use a lot for file exchanges with people in Europe.

personally i'd go for an email attachment, but you have to enable something in your email app to split up the mail in parts, because usually you aren't allowed to send mails larger than 10MB.
if you forsee sharing the file with more than one person going thru all the effort of free overseas file hosting is better -2 birds 1 stone...
