Can anyone else using Web Africa currently send any emails.. I'm getting blocked out right by Spamhaus.. which is wierd since I have not sent email on my home PC for 5 days :( , but its blocking my WA IP addy

Long live having one's own domain! Or, as a free alternative, a gmail account with a funky SSL-channel channel that entirely bypasses pesky port 25 blocking (a la itBust).

I do have my own domain (not listed with WA but in the USA).. I even have a Gmail account.. problem now is that I cant send ANY EMAIL using ANY email program (web based email works)

Whats happening now is if I try send any email, using any account I get a error message like this:

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was '*****'. Subject 'Re: Please update my new email address, Account: 'wakesa.com', Server: 'wakesa.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '451 http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=165.146.31.***', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 451, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

From checking on Spamhaus.. somehow my WA IP has been added to an open proxy list.. so I'm screwed BIG TIME.. and I'm guess so is everyone else .. Need to get is sorted out quickly

Message from spamhaus:

Here is the result of your query:

165.146.31.*** is listed as an open proxy in dnsbl.njabl.org.

165.146.31.*** is listed in dynablock.njabl.org.

165.146.31.*** resolves to dsl-146-31-***.telkomadsl.co.za

But now, if you set your domain up as a(n authenticated, obviously (by user/pass)) relay your WA IP shouldn't have any bearing things as the final smtp IP is your domain, not you. Similarly a secure session between your email app and gmail is nothing that spamhaus should have any access to...

Well I just lost conn on my ADSL (something else i've got an out standing Telkom fault waiting to be fixed)

My IP Addy change to 165.146.30.XXX from 165.146.31.XXX, and now all my emails work again.. So I couldn't get to test setting up a secure session. I really have no idea though why on earth it was picking up my home IP addy and not my Servers IP addy (which of course I have to connect to via authentication since the mail server is in the USA)

I have sent a support ticket into WA and will have to wait and find out what they say

EDIT UNLESS Spamhaus is now testing a new system... would love that since it might stop the spammers.. but HELL I'm not one of them
